When can I cut the grass on my newly sown?

When the grass is 7.5cm (3") tall the lawn can be cut for the first time, removing 1cm (half an inch) of growth. No further mowing will be required on autumn sown lawns until spring. On a spring sown lawn regular mowing will be needed and the height should be gradually reduced to 2-2.5cm (three quarters to one inch).
