How do you grow Spathiphyllum?
Posted by Suttons Staff on 16 July 2013 01:18 PM
The Spathiphyllum plant should be grown in a light position but out of direct sunlight at at a minimum temperature of 15ºC (60ºF). Keep the plant away from radiators and draughts. Spathiphyllum plants thrive in a moist atmosphere and this can be achieved by misting with tepid water. It will also be beneficial to stand the plant in a saucer containing gravel to which water is added, maintaining the level below the gravel surface to avoid the compost becoming over wet.

In summer water and mist regularly, feeding monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Reduce watering in winter but do not allow the compost to dry out and continue to mist the plant.

Re-pot into a larger pot annually, when the roots have overfilled the current pot
